How To Use Etisalat BIS Plan on Android

Good Day Y'all. 

Today I will be discussing on how to make use of Etisalat BIS plan on your Android devices (I call it ETIBABA BISANDROID) and equally on your laptops. This tweak may be familiar to some, but i know there may be some folks who still don't know about it. 

What is this post about: 

ETIBABA BISANDROID means 

1k subscription gives you 3.75 Gigs valid for a duration of 1 month with a recharge bonus of  1k+ usable to call any network.

Note that this is what I have been using for a long time now.  I also shared the tweak on a very popular FBT forum last year. It can also be used on your PC laptop via hotspot. 

This has been on for sometime now. Let me give you guys the lowdown. Here we go.......

Step 1. Sub for Etisalat BIS using any phone of your choice i. e. It isn't imperative that you use a BB device. Now to do this, there are two methods involved. Both methods work perfectly well, however the text message method has the added bonus of one being given back his recharge card value as bonus credit i.e. Recharge 1k and get 1k+ bonus back which you can use to call any network. Note however that this is a general rule and not necessarily a hard and fast rule, meaning some old sims may not be eligible for the bonus credit.

Step 1a. TEXT MSG METHOD: Send COM to 399 (Recommended method)

Step 1b. USSD METHOD: Dial *499*3#

N.B.

After this, Etisalat automatically activates the monthly BIS plan for you by default every month after your data plan expires,  provided you have a minimum of 1k credit on your phone. 

Also this tweak has been confirmed to MOSTLY work for those in the North.

Also note that unlike some other networks in 9ja, Etibaba gives a refund if one decides against subscribing for the BIS plan and even reward you with extra credit for this. 

Ain't this just wonderful? I mean just in case it doesn't work for you, [through no fault of mine, but solely your fault, because this trick is confirmer confirmento ☺], you can actually get your credit back and even more with extra bonus credit.

This tweak doesn't zap data unlike that of some other networks. If you are a very heavy Internet user or downloader,  and peradventure,  you exhaust your allocated data before its expiry date, you can still resubscribe. However you MUST opt out first.

To cancel or opt-out of the monthly auto-subscription dial *399*2#

This comes in handy for those who might exhaust their data before it expires. To successfully resubscribe for the etisalat bis plan after exhausting the alloted data before its expiry date, you must first opt-out by dialing the code above.

To check your data balance dial *228#

For those skeptics who have doubts about the genuineness of this tweak and would wanna tryout the daily plans, here you go:- however know that i have personally not tried the daily or weekly plans.

For the daily sub Send COD to 399. However know dat it is capped @ 50mb.

For the weekly sub send COW to 399. However know dat it is capped @ 500mb.

Step 2. Next is a little tweaking of your android device access point name APN. Go to settings => more => mobile networks => APN => Choose Etibaba [if u are using a dual sim device]

Step 2a. Create a new APN using the settings below:

Name: Etibaba
APN: blackberry.net
Proxy : 10.71.170.5
Port : 8080 or 9021

SAVE THIS NEW PROFILE. SELECT IT AS YOUR DEFAULT CONFIGURATION. 

NOW YOU ARE DONE, AS IN SHIKENAN. SURF AS U DEEM FIT.

For all the above mentioned steps, you don't need to have root access for it to work. This is in contrast to the Glo Bis android plan. 

YOU CAN NOW BROWSE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF WHATSAPP MESSENGER.

Step 3. For those who intend to use Whatsapp messenger, there is an extra step as explained below.

Step 3a. You must be rooted

Step 3b. Install either Psiphon,  Proxydroid or Autoproxy apk from Google Playstore.

Personally I prefer Psiphon because it has a better synchronization ability.

Step 3c. Power your Whatsapp by setting the above apps as below :

Host: 10.71.170.5 

Port:8080 or 9021

Proxy type : HTTP

For Psiphon, go to "Options', tick "Tunnel Whole Device" box. Leave/untick "Unable Timeouts for slow Networks" box. Then click on "More Options" tab. Tick "Connect through a HTTP Proxy" box. Tick "Use the following Settings" and enter the Host Address: 10.71.170.5 and Port: 8080. You are done. Click on Start connection and check the "I trust this apllication" box when prompted.

For proxydroid,  Tick Auto connect [start proxy when specified network is available]. This ensures you don't have to manually start your proxy app every time. Thats all. Its done and dusted with. 

For those who would like to use this plan on android either directly or via hotspot tethering via your Android device to your PC,  all you have to do is setup your PC laptop system proxy.  You can either set up your browsers individually or otherwise. Enter thesame proxy settings as above, i.e.

Proxy: 10.71.170.5 

Port: 8080
